Music & Drama Ministry

The Praise & Worship Team along with the Voices of Praise choir creates an atmosphere that allows us to enter into God's presence.

The drama ministry allows people to express worship through human videos, synchronized movement, Davidic dance, and skits.

John 4:21-24  "Jesus declared, "Believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

WORD Drama & Fine Arts

When we have drama and fine arts within our worship times this allows for freedom of expression in our worship.  That is the purpose of this unique ministry. Narissa Bynum leads with these points in mind.

Director, Narissa is a graduate of The University of Rio Grande with AAB in office technology and an emphasis in administrative office. She is now the Administrative Assistant at the school of technology at The University of Rio Grande.

This ministry offers; Human videos, expressive synchronized movement, and Davidic dance.

 Ways We Worship

Hebrews 13:15 states, "Let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name."  We, at RPCOG, believe that when we gather together we should praise God for His goodness and worship Him simply because He is God.  Worship, according to the Bible, can take on many forms and be expressed in various ways.  Some of these forms of worship are listed below:

  • Standing - II Chronicles 20:19 - "They stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high."
  • Singing - Psalms 9:11 - "Sing praises to the Lord...declare among the people His doings."
  • Using Instruments - Psalms 150 - "....trumpet, psaltery, harp, timbrel, stringed instruments, organ and cymbals." (David had a band of 4,000 musicians.)
  • Clapping - Psalms 47:1 - "Clap your hands all ye people, shout unto God with a voice of triumph."
  • Shouting - Psalms 47:1 - See #4
  • Lifting Our Hands - Psalms 63:4 - "Thus will I bless thee while I live. I will lift up my hands in the name."
  • Dancing - Psalms 150:4 - "Praise Him with the dance."
  • Leaping - II Samuel 6:16 - "David leaped before the Lord."
  • Joyful Noise - Psalms 98:4 - "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all the earth."
  • Bowing Down - Psalms 95:6 - "O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our maker.
